Key Changes in the 2026 Examination Policy
1. Increase in Passing Threshold (From 33% to 40%)
Previously, candidates needed only 33% (e.g. 25 marks out of 75) to pass a matric subject. Under the new policy, students must score at least 40% marks (e.g. 30 marks out of 75) to avoid a supplementary or 'U' grade.
2. Replacement of Old 7-Point Scale with 10-Point Scale
The older system (A+, A, B, C, D, E, F) has been superseded by international standards to better represent differences in high-achieving student percentiles.
3. Dual Reporting (Marks + Letter Grades)
To maintain seamless transition for college and university admissions, 9th Class result cards will continue displaying Subject Marks alongside Grades so students face no difficulty during intermediate enrollment.
